Channing Bete Company Named Company of the Year by United Way of Franklin County for the Twelfth Time in Thirteen Years
South Deerfield, MA -- Channing Bete Company has been named United Way of Franklin County's Company of the Year, marking the twelfth time in the last thirteen years that the company has received this honor. The award, announced during a recent ceremony at Greenfield Community College, recognizes the company that makes the largest single donation to that year's United Way campaign.
The difficult economic times have impacted the budgets of many United Way-affiliated agencies, just as the community-wide demand for critical services has grown. Recognizing the need to support their neighbors, local businesses and their employees once again dug deep, contributing a total of nearly $800,000 to this year's United Way campaign. Ninety-four percent of Channing Bete Company employees donated, raising a total of $95,158.
Channing Bete Company received a Platinum "Company That Cares" award for reaching the highest tier of employee giving. The company also received a Samuel B. Payne Award, given to companies that donate $10,000 or more. This is the sixteenth year in a row that the company has received this award.
