Social Development Strategy and Developmental Assets
Many Channing Bete Company® positive youth development products are built on the Social Development Strategy framework. The Social Development Strategy is based on longitudinal studies.
There are other frameworks developed by other organizations to help foster positive youth development. Among these is the Search Institute's 40 developmental assets framework. The Social Development Strategy and the assets framework share some similarities. But there are also key differences that, once explained, will either help you decide which framework to use or -- for those already working with an assets framework -- help you decide to incorporate the Social Development Strategy into your community's prevention efforts.
