Parenting For Violence Prevention (98815)R
For presenting to parents of teens ages 13-17
Parents' behavior and interactions with their children have shown to be important predictors of whether or not those children exhibit violent behavior. There is growing evidence that parental intervention can have substantial, long-lasting effects when it comes to reducing violence among children.
This community outreach and mobilization tool equips and motivates parents to help their children make healthy choices about conflict management -- even in high-stress situations. Parents learn how to teach their children to recognize warning signs of anger, to communicate effectively, and to resolve their differences peacefully.
This presentation will let you quickly and easily educate parents on:
- risk and protective factors
- skills that promote nonviolence
- strategies for creating strong, positive relationships with teens
- signs that a teen may commit or has experienced violence, and what to do.
Package also includes 25 copies each of these realistically illustrated booklets:
"Youth Violence -- You Can Help Prevent It" (44875)A
"How To Resolve Conflict Peacefully" (42770)A
