Every year, almost a million children are victims of child abuse or neglect. These children suffer the effects of abuse when it occurs -- and they often suffer effects for years afterward. What's more, the number of reported cases is believed to be only a fraction of the actual cases. The number of children who are abused may be as many as three million.

Child abuse can be difficult to talk about. But talking about it is essential as a step toward preventing it. Every community member has a role to play, and this informative, sensitive presentation educates them on the different aspects of child abuse and what they can do to stop it.

The presentation will let you quickly and easily educate audience members on:

  • who the victims of child abuse are
  • different forms of abuse and how they affect children
  • causes and risk factors
  • warning signs of abuse
  • what to do if they suspect a child is being abused
  • how to help prevent child abuse.

Package also includes 25 copies each of the full-color photographically illustrated folder "Child Abuse -- It's Everybody's Problem" (30656)A and the realistically illustrated booklet "Reporting Child Abuse -- It's Everyone's Responsibility" (72943)A.
