Parenting For Lead Poisoning Prevention (90961)R Spanish (92769)R
For presenting to parents & parents-to-be
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, about 900,000 children ages one to five have too much lead in their bodies. Laws banning lead in house paint and gasoline have reduced the amount of lead in the environment, but lead is still found in many places where children live, visit, and play. Even low levels can have serious effects on children.
Lead is a danger, but there are steps parents can take to reduce the risks to their child. During this presentation, parents will learn about the many ways lead may be in their child's environment -- at home and in other places children spend time. They'll also learn what they can do to help protect their child.
The presentation will let you quickly and easily educate parents on:
- lead and lead poisoning
- symptoms, effects, and screening
- sources of lead
- how to protect their family
- resources to help them learn more about lead poisoning or get help if their child is at risk.
Package also includes 50 copies of the photographically illustrated booklet "Learn About Protecting Your Child From Lead" in English (21091)A or Spanish (22156)A.
