Channing Bete Company Named Company of the Year by United Way of Franklin County for the Eighth Time in Nine Years
South Deerfield, MA -- At a recent awards ceremony held at Deerfield Academy, Channing Bete Company was named United Way of Franklin County's Company of the Year. This marks the eighth time in the last nine years that the company has received this honor, which is given to the company that makes the largest single donation to that year's United Way campaign.
In challenging economic times, it is especially critical that members of a community support the organizations that support their neighbors. This year, local businesses and their employees did just that, raising $875,000 for the United Way of Franklin County's annual campaign. 95 percent of Channing Bete Company employees donated, raising a total of $92,693 -- $14,133 more than the company raised in 2007.
Channing Bete Company received a Platinum "Company That Cares" award for reaching the highest tier of employee giving. The company also received a Samuel B. Payne Award, given to companies that donate $10,000 or more. This is the twelfth year in a row that the company has received this award.
