How can I learn of job openings at the Channing Bete Company?
The easiest way to find out all of our current job postings is to regularly check this Web site.
Channing Bete Company also advertises open positions when they become available in area newspapers such as the Springfield Sunday Republican, the Daily Hampshire Gazette, and the Greenfield Recorder.
You may also pick up applications and review job opening listings by stopping by the reception area in our corporate offices in South Deerfield.
How often are job openings updated?
Our Web site and job lists are updated on a regular basis. Job openings will remain listed until the position is filled.

Applying to Our Company
How do I apply for a job at Channing Bete Company?
To apply for a position, please send a cover letter and resume plus any additional requested materials noted in the job listing to: Human Resources Department, Channing Bete Company, One Community Place, South Deerfield, MA 01373.
Please mention the specific job posting or a potential position in your cover letter or on your application form.
You can also apply in person at our corporate headquarters in South Deerfield. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We currently do not have an online application.
Unfortunately, incomplete application packages cannot be considered for a job opening.
What if the job advertised requires work samples?
To receive consideration, applicants must send requested materials with their resume when applying for a position that requires writing or design samples.
If additional materials are required with my application, will they be returned to me?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of materials we receive, it is not possible to return work or writing samples. If samples or other materials are requested, please include nonreturnable samples with your application.
If openings in my area of interest are not advertised, can I still apply?
You are welcome to send an application indicating a specific job interest, but please note that the Company keeps unsolicited applications on file for only 60 days.

Are there freelance opportunities available at the Channing Bete Company?
We sometimes have freelance opportunities available for advertising writers, Web designers, data analysts, product writers, editors, artists, and prepress specialists.
If you are interested in future freelance opportunities, please forward a cover letter, resume, and 3 work samples to our Human Resources Department stating that you are interested in freelance work. Freelance resumes will be forwarded to the appropriate manager. The manager will contact you if interested in utilizing your services.

The Application Form
Is it acceptable to include a resume with an application form in lieu of completing the employment history section of the application?
Because the application form is an official legal document signed by the applicant, we ask that all information be completed on the application form.

The Application Process
What happens to my resume/application for a specific position once it is submitted?
Human Resources will mail you an acknowledgment letter within 10 business days of receipt of your application. Your application will be shared with the hiring supervisor who will review your qualifications and experience.
If you are selected for an interview, Human Resources will mail you a packet of information about the job opening and invite you to an interview.
May I submit a resume for more than one opening at the same time?
Yes, however, you need to submit a separate resume and application for each opening, specifying the position applied for.
How will I know if I am scheduled for an interview?
Following our receipt of resumes and applications for an advertised opening, hiring managers and Human Resources will select candidates for interviewing based on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, work samples, etc. Human Resources will send selected candidates a package of information with an invitation to interview with the Company.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, we regret it is not possible to schedule an interview with all applicants.
Once you have received our acknowledgment letter, if you do not hear from us within a reasonable period of time, you can assume that another candidate has been selected. If you are not selected, we encourage you to apply for other positions of interest in the future.
